chemical prime valve

My chemical prime valve is leaking. There used to be a way to repack the valve with some type of cord as a maintenance routine. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Thanks

Usually you can, remove the knob then slightly tighten the flats behind it.

Did you try just tightening the packing nut ?

often that's all it takes
