It is probably 80% do it yourself type of equipment.

Very few just normal upright vacuum cleaners anymore, mostly stick vacs and a whole lot of extractors and four five robots in a very long isle...

And a chemical selection that rivals that at Aramsco..

Besides vacuuming well, it needs a detachable edging tool and furniture tool. It needs interchangeable size heads for residential and commercial vacuuming. I’d want a canister but having a bag wouldn’t be a deal killer. Most important, and this is the least likely to occur, I’d want it to be exclusive to within our industry.

I was surprised to see that the Royal hand vacuum is obsolete. Everything now, is battery operated and very cumbersome.

And cheaply made. I imagine the vacuum I’d want would cost the same as a OP and would have a market of (maybe) 100 people in our industry.

If it isn't broken, don't fix it?

Sanitaire sc888n under $300
Sanitaire canister under&150

Two vacuums will do it all! And should last for 20 plus years?!

Most vacuums that do it all don't last more than a few years?..[Kirby is the exception]

Maybe more importantly, what would you be willing to pay for exactly that?

I don’t think I’ll ever get what I want AND have it be durable for a lifetime for $300.
The Kirby I would think comes close? [ not for $300]

Except for you would have to use a attachment to get underneath the bed?

Vacuum first then edge?

Then go out in the garage and Flock your Christmas tree!!!

Neither does a Kirby.
But a Shark Powered Lift Away does. In fact, it’s the perfect vacuum. Except it costs $300 and lasts about a year FOR ME, but a tech would kill it in 2 or 3 months.

My $800 lindhaus goes right under a bed. If only it was more durable, I love everything else about it... The plastic is cracking and falling apart after 18 months though. If I don't get another 12 months out of this thing you got a better deal on your Shark.

What is the most reliable commercial vacuum that has a manually adjustable brush roll, 14-15" head, and an edging/furniture tool? I prefer to spend extra on something that doesn't break within the first few years of use.

Find an old windsor versamatic this one ive had 25 - 30 years now. Its been retired for newer lighter versions of the same and is now used in my shop and picks up rocks, nuts bolts screws washers and shavings from the drill press. Every time i vacuum the shop it picks up about a ¼ of a bag of the stuff. And keeps running year in and year out theres a couple of new oneson ebay

Right, I remember you telling me about that one. I forgot to ask, can the brush roll be turned off on the Versamatic? And does it lay down close to flat in use?

I buy Reconditioned Powered lift away vacuums from Amazon. Usually about 125.00 They come almost like new. Sometimes they may have a scratch. I can get about 2 years out of them. But, I do not have any Technicians.

When I complained about this you insinuated we were all crackheads and abusive.

I does lay down flat but you cannot shut the brush off. They might have a hardwood floor attachment for it, i dont know
I bought it and used it as a powered bush carpet vacuum. I have 5 of them the one pictured is the oldest at around 30 years old i had 2 but one the power head and handle broke and is still around as parts the one pictured had its power head finally break and was replaced with a used power head i got off ebay for 75.00 a couple of years ago the shop vac is 14" power head
The other 4 are 12" i have one in each truck and 2 at home 1 upstairs the other down

Well it depends on how many of my recommendations are given, but $1200 max, I think.
The windsor 12" lays flat, will go under most beds. It goes to the edge on one side. Has detachable wand with hose fof crevices etc has onboard attachments l for crevices (shown) other small tools good for upholstery (missing home vac dont know where she keeps it)here are a few pictures
