Hey Yall-

Question about in-line filters and which I should buy. I read posts in this forum about the devastator filter but I’m not sure Tom is building them anymore. Saw stuff about him online and not producing products or something, I don’t know but I checked his site and all are out of stock. I was looking at the silver bullet which is cheap or the new Boss from TMF which is not cheap. I never had a truck mount before and I’ll be with Rob in VA next week getting mine installed. He has the boss filter in stock and I can grab it while there but it’s $400 more than the silver bullet. Not sure if it’s worth it. Curious if anyone has experience with either and can share opinions or has good experience with a different brand.

Thanks for the advice

I use Tom’s Devastator filters but if I couldn’t get one I’d buy one from Joe. He’s persona non grata here so I can’t give you his website but you can reach him at W A N D E R S P R O D U C T S

I love my sapphire box filter. It's the easiest to clean for my opinion, but I'm the guy who doesn't like using paint filters so if that's your desire, you might not want that

If I buy the silver bullet there is this weird thing from Joe saying you commit to buying his filter bags. They aren’t expensive but thought that was odd. That SS box looks interesting. I have their upholstery tool for portables and love it, wonder if I can use that with the truckmount too without spending $700 in the truckmount version.

I use a custom stainless version of the old prochem filter box i had fabed up. The prochem version had a single 3" hose coming from the wastetank to the back of the filter box. My wastetank is setup with 2-2" in so when i had these built i set um up for 2-2" in & out they (i had 3 built) designed to use a standard prochem filter basket to save money ( it would have doubled the price if i had to make the baskets) when all was said and done i think i spent about 50.00 less to build these htan buying off the shelf prochem units . I had originally bought a prochem unit and modified it but because it was made of aluminum it had seriously been eaten up from the chemicals. The units i have now are 20 or so years old and still look and function like new. Only downside is that it does consume floor space

Just beware

Joe might call you at 6am if he’s got something on his mind. So give a fake phone number on your order

Thank you, I’ve bought from him before and never had issues. Appreciate the input
You're welcome. Heres a thought. Before i bought the original prochem filter i used these inexpensive inline filters and had really good luck with them way way way back then they had a hindged lid with a spring loaded latch instead of what appear to be a screw on end the spring latch and plastic hinges were the units weak points. They don't hold alot but they're inexpensive, light, don't take up much space and do a great job of filtering Amazon has um for 170.00
